In the framework of the eTrade for Women initiative, UNCTAD in partnership with the Macedonian e-commerce Association and Nina Angelovska, co-founder of Grouper.mk and an eTrade for Women Advocate, will host the second regional eTrade for Women Masterclass for the Balkans under the theme "Supporting Women Entrepreneurs through their Digital Journey”.

This event will gather female digital entrepreneurs and women in e-commerce who are driving the digital transformation in the Balkans.

What will the masterclass focus on?

The virtual masterclass will be organized as a two-day online journey, combining a set of training, peer-learning and inspirational sessions as well as a policy dialogue.

The sessions will be designed to inspire women digital entrepreneurs, help them strengthen their skills to leverage digital solutions, as well as offer them an opportunity to connect with like-minded peers and expand their network. The programme will also seek to boost their capacity to act as leaders of the digital economy and influence decision-making processes.

Sessions will tackle some of the challenges that stand in front of women in the digital economy in the region, reflecting on the constraints imposed by COVID-19. Discussions will also uncover existing opportunities, in order to help participating entrepreneurs grow their business by meeting changing customer demands and becoming more competitive.

Following the masterclass, participants will be invited to take part in the establishment of the eTrade for Women Community of women entrepreneurs in the region.

Who can participate?

The masterclass is open to women entrepreneurs from the following Balkans countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Montenegro, North Macedonia and Serbia.

In order to be considered, candidates must be the founder, co-founder or CEO of a digital business, an e-commerce store or a digital platform, with a minimum of two years of operations.
