BioTrade Congress

The III BioTrade Congress: Promoting Sustainable use through Business Engagement, will take place as part of the COP 12 Business and Biodiversity Forum, and will discuss key trends and emerging approaches for the sustainable production and commercialization of biodiversity-based products and services.

Governments, private stakeholders and civil society will share their experiences, best practices and challenges with the aim to strengthen the linkages between government-private actors and civil society.

The Congress will discuss the following topics:

  • Engaging businesses in achieving the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity 2011-2020 and the Sustainable Development Goals

  • Nagoya Protocol implications for developing BioTrade and biodiversity businesses

  • Practical tools for sustainable sourcing and use of biodiversity

  • Business to Business Roundtable: Sustainable supply and ethical demand
