At its 1236th meeting, on 16 September 2024, in accordance with past practice, the Trade and Development Board established the Preparatory Committee for the sixteenth session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development and elected the President of the Trade and Development Board as its Chair.
The Board tasked the Preparatory Committee with the substantive preparatory process leading towards the Conference.
This formal session of the Prepcom will be the opportunity to take stock of the status of negotiation and take any formal action regarding agreed text.
