The monitoring and evaluation course is part of the UNCTAD Empowerment Programme for Trade Facilitation. It aims to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation skills* of members of National Trade Facilitation Committees, providing them with the necessary knowledge to assess progress and implementation of trade facilitation reforms, identify areas for improvement, recognize implementation challenges, spot bottlenecks, and take timely corrective measures to improve outcomes.

Two editions of the course have been held in English, and this closing ceremony marks the end of the first edition delivered in Spanish for NTFC members from Bolivia, Ecuador, Honduras, and Peru. Upon successful completion of the course, NTFC members understood the main concepts of monitoring and evaluation and their crucial role in trade facilitation. They also learned about various planning tools, methods and approaches, the key components of a monitoring plan, and the steps required to conduct an evaluation.

The closing ceremony will summarize the key concepts that trade facilitation practitioners have learned during this Monitoring and Evaluation course; will present and award the best final projects; and will further analyze how monitoring and evaluation can enhance the work of a National Trade Facilitation Committee.
