The Commission on Science and Technology for Development will hold its 2024-2025 inter-sessional panel meeting with physical participation on 21-22 October 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3 to 6 p.m. each day.
The panel will address the following two priority themes:
- Theme 1: Diversifying economies in a world of accelerated digitalization
- Theme 2: Technology foresight and technology assessment for sustainable development
The Commission will also review progress made in the implementation of the outcomes of the World Summit on the Information Society.
The findings and recommendations of the panel will be considered at the twenty-eighth session of the Commission in 2025.
Participation and registration
Participants will include representatives from national Governments, international organizations, the private sector and civil society.
Representatives of other organizations, including non-governmental organizations in the general and special categories, should hold consultative status with the Economic and Social Council or have received accreditation from the World Summit on the Information Society.
