The UNCTAD voluntary peer review of competition law and policy of Egypt was conducted at the twenty-second session of the UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Competition Law and Policy on 3 July 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland.

UNCTAD and the Egyptian Competition Authority (ECA) are hosting an event to disseminate the findings and recommendations emanating from the report, and to raise awareness of the key policymakers and government officials on the impact that those recommended actions can have in improving competition law and policy in Egypt.

UNCTAD and ECA are also organizing a workshop on competition for the country’s judiciary.

The ultimate goal is to support policy and institutional reform and to strengthen competition in the country.
