Interactive briefing with SIDS delegations on the Global Supply Chain Forum, in view of recent developments in international transport and trade facilitation, and in preparation for the SIDS4 Conference

The briefing will address the challenges faced by SIDS in the wake of the unprecedented global supply chain challenges of 2021-2022 and the more frequent supply chain disruptions.

The briefing will allow experts from UNCTAD and representatives from SIDS to discuss wide-ranging thematic areas spanning transport and logistics, maritime decarbonization, digitalization, trade facilitation, and finance.

The insights generated will inform deliberations at the first Global Supply Chain Forum scheduled to take place from 21 to 24 May 2024 in Bridgetown, Barbados.

Exchanges at the briefing will also help promote synergies and cooperative efforts between the UNCTAD Global Supply Chain Forum and the upcoming Fourth International Conference on Small Island Developing States, which will be held in May 2024 in Antigua and Barbuda.
