In line with the agreed conclusions adopted by the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy at its third session on 10 July 2018, the consultations at the fourth session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy will focus on the following topics:

Report on the working groups on consumer protection in e-commerce and on consumer product safety.

Contribution of consumer protection to sustainable consumption.

Latest developments in legal and institutional frameworks and world consumer protection map.

Review of capacity-building and technical assistance.
Other topics of discussion will include an update on the implementation of the actionable agreed conclusions of the third session of the Intergovernmental Group of Experts on Consumer Protection Law and Policy and the voluntary peer review on consumer protection law and policy of Indonesia.
Written contributions
In order to facilitate the deliberations and the informal exchange of experiences and best practices on the topics to be discussed, member States and observers are requested to submit written contributions to the UNCTAD secretariat by Friday, 31 May 2019, to allow participants to prepare for the meeting.
Participation
This meeting is open to all member States of UNCTAD. Other organizations, including specialized agencies, intergovernmental bodies and non-governmental organizations in the general category, may participate as observers.
