UNCTAD, with support from the UN regional commissions for Africa (ECA), Europe (ECE), Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and Western Asia (ESCWA), will host online the opening ceremony of the course "The Use of Blockchain for Trade Facilitation” on 6 February 2024, from 13:00 to 15:00 (CET).
This course explores the concept of blockchain and raises awareness on the possibilities and obstacles associated with using such technology in trade facilitation. Additionally, it provides a practical understanding for decision-makers and practitioners about the advantages, conditions and adequate environment needed to ensure the successful implementation of blockchain technology.
The event is open to all stakeholders who have previously registered for the course. Registrations can be done on the Course on the use of blockchain in trade facilitation landing page.
During the event, there will be an introduction to the course methodology, followed by the release and presentation of the first module, "Understanding the potential use of blockchain for trade facilitation", delivered by experts in blockchain from UN Regional Commissions. The session will provide participants with an opportunity to answer potential questions regarding the course.
