Economic Development in Africa Report 2024
Unlocking Africa's Trade Potential - Boosting regional markets and reducing risks

The report analyzes the nexus between trade, regional integration, and stability with a view to advancing effective mechanisms to strengthen Africa's resilience in the face of interconnected global challenges.

It provides a roadmap for proactive and adaptative strategies and programmes through which trade enterprises, economic agents, and investors (both domestic and foreign) can use trade (especially intra-African trade) and regional cooperation (enhancing trade and economic partnerships) to mitigate perceived exposure to shocks and address immediate vulnerabilities to the polycrisis.

The Weekly Tradecast looks at Africa’s economies and ways to boost trade, reduce risk and unlock the continent’s potential with Mona Farid Mohmed Badran from Cairo University and also UN Trade and Development’s (UNCTAD) chief of the Africa section, Habiba Barka.
