The Ministry of Trade and Industry of Trinidad and Tobago and the E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) are organizing a launch event for the National E-commerce Strategy 2025-2030 on 26 March 2025.
The launch of the E-commerce Strategy will bring together representatives of the main stakeholders who have participated in the strategy development and will be involved in its implementation.. The launch event will be followed by a development partners’ roundtable to discuss opportunities for synergies and collaboration during the strategy implementation. As part of UNCTAD’s Implementation Support Mechanism, a workshop to present the eTrade Reform Tracker to the national e-commerce committee and advisory institutions will be organized on 27 March 2025. The Tracker aims to support the coordination and monitoring of e-commerce Strategy.
The Strategy was elaborated with UNCTAD support on the basis of the findings and recommendations of the eTrade Readiness Assessment for Trinidad and Tobago. Both the assessment and the strategy were undertaken in close collaboration with development and eTrade for all partners, as well as the UN Resident Coordinator Office.
Funding was provided by the Government of Trinidad and Tobago and the E-commerce and Digital Economy Programme Core Donors (Australia, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden and the Kingdom of the Netherlands).
