The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and the Commission of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), jointly with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands, is organizing a meeting to present the Regional E-commerce Strategy Development project in ECOWAS to Embassies of the Netherlands in ECOWAS Member States. This meeting aims to promote synergies, information sharing and coordination of activities between UNCTAD and the relevant Embassies of the Netherlands.
The Regional E-commerce Strategy Development project in ECOWAS is supported by the government of the Netherlands as part of the UNCTAD’s eT Ready Implementation Support Mechanism (ISM). The project started in October 2021 with several regional and national consultative meetings and the preparation of a regional eTrade Readiness Assessment building on the eTrade Readiness Assessments undertaken by UNCTAD for ECOWAS Member States between 2018 and 2020.
