Online course on governance of the cultural and creative sectors

Background and objectives:

The online course on governance of the cultural and creative sectors was part of a series of trainings delivered under the Creative Economy component of the EU-UNCTAD Joint Programme for Angola: Train for Trade II, from 21 July to 18 August 2021. The course was delivered through the Train for Trade II Programme's Online Knowledge Hub. The target groups were Angolan Government institutions (Interministerial Working Group); public organizations: national, provincial, and municipal governments; and cultural and creative entrepreneurs.

The course's objective was to enable participants from the public and private sectors to jointly build capacity for a better governance of the Angolan cultural and creative industries.

Results achieved:

The first, partially live delivery of the course with mentoring support had a total of 52 participants from the public and private sector, academia, and civil society. Twelve of the total number of participants were women, however, they were more represented among the active participants as well as those certified. Among the 38 active participants, 10 were certified at the end of the training, four of which were women (40%). The course materials remain online and it is therefore expected that the number of certified participants increases over time.

Most of the course was self-paced, but it included a closing session delivered on the 18th of August 2021 live on MS Teams, attended by 19 participants. The session emphasized the necessity of the state as an enabler and facilitator for the growth of the cultural and creative industries; the need to consider international standards in data collection; and the importance of infrastructure development and ongoing investment. The live interaction was much appreciated by participants and a fruitful moment of exchange of ideas and comments. The participants expressed positive opinions about the content and timeliness of the course.

Curso online em governança nos setores culturais e criativos

Antecedentes e objetivos:

O curso online sobre governança dos sectores culturais e criativos fez parte de uma série de formações ministrados no âmbito da componente de Economia Criativa do Programa Conjunto UE-CNUCED para Angola: Train for Trade II, de 21 de Julho a 18 de Agosto de 2021. O curso foi entregue através do Centro de Conhecimento Online do Programa Train for Trade II. O público-alvo foi instituições do Governo angolano (Grupo de Trabalho Interministerial); organizações públicas à nível nacional, provincial e municipal; e empreendedores culturais e criativos.

O objectivo do curso era permitir que os participantes dos sectores público e privado criassem conjuntamente capacidades para uma melhor governança das indústrias culturais e criativas angolanas.

Resultados alcançados:

O primeiro curso, implementado parcialmente ao vivo e com mentoría das actividades, contou com um total de 52 participantes dos sectores público e privado, académico e da sociedade civil. Doze do número total de participantes eram mulheres, no entanto, estavam mais representadas entre os participantes activos, bem como entre os participantes certificados. Entre os 38 participantes activos, 10 foram certificados no final da formação, quatro dos quais eram mulheres (40%). Os materiais do curso permanecem em linha, pelo que se espera que o número de participantes certificados aumente ao longo do tempo.

A maior parte do curso foi auto-gerido, mas incluiu uma sessão de encerramento entregue no dia 18 de Agosto de 2021 em directo no MS Teams, na qual participaram 19 participantes. A sessão enfatizou o papel do estado como facilitador do crescimento das indústrias culturais e criativas; a necessidade de considerar padrões internacionais na recolha de dados; e a importância do desenvolvimento de infra-estruturas e do investimento contínuo. A interacção ao vivo foi muito apreciada pelos participantes e um momento frutuoso de troca de ideias e comentários. Os participantes expressaram opiniões positivas sobre o conteúdo do curso.
