Project launch workshop: Capacity building for East African Community trade portals connectivity and trade facilitation support

In line with the new East African Community (EAC) project on Capacity Building for EAC Trade Portals Connectivity and Trade Facilitation Support, funded by the African Development Bank, UNCTAD in close collaboration with the EAC Secretariat will hold an intensive regional workshop for the Coordinators of the National Trade Facilitation Committees (NTFC) in the EAC, Coordinators of the Trade Information Portals and Customs Representatives. 

Objectives of the workshop: 

• Provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the project: its objectives, outputs, planned activities and expected outcomes.
• Align the project activities with the priority areas of the EAC partner states and identify the challenges
• Inform about the current status of EAC partner states in Trade Facilitation
• Gather feedback and insights from participants to fine-tune project implementation strategies. 

Intended outcomes:

• Enhanced understanding of the project among stakeholders and beneficiaries
• Strengthened collaboration and partnerships for effective project implementation
• Identification of common challenges and collaboratively explore potential solutions
• Enhanced commitment to the reforms and collection of valuable feedback to inform project activities and strategies
• Adjust the project log frame by partner states and EAC secretariat
