Regional workshop on Informal cross-border trade for empowerment of women, economic development and regional integration in Eastern and Southern Africa

The regional workshop will be held from 4 to 5 December 2019 in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania as the final activity of the Development Account project 1617J: Informal cross-border trade for empowerment of women, economic development and regional integration in Eastern and Southern Africa

The purpose of the workshop is to present the  main findings of UNCTAD analytical work in the area and the results of the training activities at the borders carried out in the context of the project.

Participants at the workshop will include representatives from relevant ministries of the three countries, as well as representatives of the Cross Border Trade Associations (Malawi and Zambia), and of regional organizations (UN ECA, COMESA, EAC and SADC secretariats).

The meeting will be held at the Protea Hotel by MarriottĀ® Dar es Salaam Courtyard.

The language of the workshop is English.
