This capacity building workshop for sub-regional trade and transport stakeholders is part of the activities of the UNCTAD project on transit, transport and trade facilitation in West Africa for better participation global value chains and global trade. The event is organized in collaboration with the National Implementation Unit of the Enhanced Integrated Framework of the World Trade Organization (WTO).

This training of trainers responds to a request from key stakeholders and follows a first training workshop which focused on the contractual framework for transport, insurance issues and the conditions for purchasing products. imported goods which brought together the Chamber of Commerce, transporters' associations/unions, and public authorities.

With the aim of raising awareness, leading change and improving conditions in the logistics sector, at the heart of international trade, this second training – which focuses on practical cases – aims to train trainers who will be able to share the keys to success with carriers. to make the sector more competitive, extract a margin from transport services and make a profit.

The appropriation of models for automated calculation of the operating cost of a road freight transport vehicle and the selling price of transport covering this cost will make it possible to strengthen the capacities of the actors. In addition, a methodological guide for calculating the operating cost of a road transport vehicle in West Africa will be shared during this workshop.
