UNCTAD’s Regional Forum for PACER Plus Signatory countries

​This will be the second event of UNCTAD in the South Pacific Region in the framework of Pacific Agreement on Closer Economic relations (PACER) Plus

The event will address members of 9 South Pacific countries - Cook Islands, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu - to increase their regulatory transparency in trade and investment-related capacity to reach the standards set out in the PACER Plus.

The objectives are:

  • To train selected members of the PACER plus Signatory countries in mapping import/export procedures;
  • To strengthen human and institutional capacities of key national stakeholders on the links between trade and gender;
  • Assist in the development of a regional strategy for the exchange of information among PACER Plus signatories;
  • To identify national training needs to be addressed in the national training sessions
