The E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UNCTAD, jointly with the Ministry of Trade, Agribusiness and Industry in Ghana, will hold a validation workshop for the National E-commerce Strategy on 12 June 2025 in Accra. This workshop aims to review and validate the strategy's goals, objectives, measures, as well as governance, and monitoring and evaluation frameworks. The event will bring together senior government officials, and key representatives from the private sector, civil society and academia, and development partners.
The development of this strategy takes place in the framework of the UN Joint SDG Fund Digital Transformation Funding Round 2023, in partnership with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), under the coordination of the UN Resident Coordinator Office (UNRCO). This initiative focuses on leveraging digital ecosystems for increased MSMEs’ productivity and will enhance the capacity of policy makers to lead, plan, implement and monitor e-commerce reforms that contribute to inclusive and sustainable development.
