Often, companies, in particular, small and medium size enterprises (SMEs), face challenges in reporting their perceived trade obstacles due to lack of adequate communication channels, lack of trust in the system for resolution of reported claims, among other factors.

This Workshop will gather together key private and public sector stakeholders with the aim of:

  • raising awareness on the existing channels through which companies can report their trade obstacles.

  • stock take on the views and proposals from the private sector, especially SMEs for designing a channel and mechanism for effectively communicating and addressing their trade concerns.

The discussion will be facilitated by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to produce a joint proposal on “Strategy for Private Sector for NTM Reporting Mechanism” which will be presented to the relevant public institutions after the workshop. The workshop will be interactive to stimulate exchanging ideas and recommendations on a potential channel for the reporting and institutional framework for the resolution of the trade obstacles businesses are facing.

The objective of the workshop is to strengthen the voice of the private sector, especially SMEs, to be heard by the relevant public institutions and enhance the channels of communication and resolution of trade claims.

The workshops will be held in Albanian and English. Simultaneous translation will be provided from English into Albanian and vice versa
