Why science, technology, innovation matters and what ‘eureka moment’ made you choose a STEM career?
We believe that as Internet has been able to democratize information, social media has given everyone a voice, and e-commerce may be the solution to democratize and disrupt the current ways of doing business.
Isn´t it a terrible paradox though? In order to make money you already need money!
Think about someone opening a T-shirt store. They need to invest in product, leasing, space, personnel, production and more.
However, with e-commerce, and especially platforms such as Kichink, this same person can start with a virtual shop, pre-selling their products even before they are created.
We are breaking this paradox of the current economic system and democratizing the way we conduct business today.
The realization that this was possible is my everyday eureka moment, and a daily reminder that what we do makes a difference and impact.
Share a career anecdote and message about how they would like to see the world change as a result of workplace gender parity.
I wish in the future my daughter will not be asked all the very silly questions I have been asked, when doing business:
Where is your male boss or the man that I can negotiate with?
But if you are traveling for business who is taking care of your three kids?
That is a job for the man.
We understand you want that promotion, first we need to know, who is the leading career in your relationship?
It’s that simple. Women deserve to be in their positions and own their space.
I like this quote by Michelle Obama because from my perspective it is true:
“Marriage still ain’t equal, y’all …
It ain’t equal. I tell women, that whole, ‘You can have it all’ — mmm, nope, not at the same time, that’s a lie.
And it’s not always enough to lean in, because that s*** doesn’t work all the time.”
We are not looking at an equal world, and we still have a lot of work ahead. We cannot think we are already there.

Women in STEM: Changing the narrative
Women have been left out of much more than innovation, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics careers, but these are the sectors that imagine, design, build and code our future.
UNCTAD's Women in STEM campaign showcase incredible everyday innovators, engineers, change-makers and disruptors in their fields to tell their stories so that others may follow in their footsteps.
