The Research Partnership Platform on Competition and Consumer Protection (RPP), created by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD) in 2010, provides a collaborative forum to strengthen research and policy analysis on competition and consumer protection. It aims to connect academics, policymakers and practitioners to create synergies among them, share their insights and foster evidence-based policymaking.
Responding to new challenges in consumer protection
In its 16th edition, the RPP will bring together leading scholars and researchers to discuss consumer protection in a changing world and commemorate 40 Years of the United Nations Guidelines for Consumer Protection with a view to reflect on its global impact.
Latest research on competition law and policy
In this segment of the meeting, scholars will present ongoing and recent research projects addressing key issues in competition law and policy, including how to address business practices of the State in markets through competition law.
Linking research findings to policy advice and technical assistance
The Research Partnership Platform aims to contribute to UNCTAD’s broader mandate to achieve inclusive and sustainable development by creating synergies among scholars and practitioners in exploring how competition and consumer policies can ensure that markets work for development.
