UNCTAD, with support from the UN regional commissions for Africa (ECA), Europe (ECE), Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and Western Asia (ESCWA), will host online the opening ceremony of the course "The Use of Blockchain for Trade Facilitation” on 17 December 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. (CET).
This course explores the concept of blockchain and raises awareness on the possibilities and obstacles associated with using such technology in trade facilitation. Additionally, it provides a practical understanding for decision-makers and practitioners about the advantages, conditions and adequate environment needed to ensure the successful implementation of blockchain technology.
The event is open to all stakeholders who have previously registered for the course. Registrations can be done via the landing page of the Course on the use of blockchain.
At the event, key insights gained from the course and highlight participants' results will be shared. Additionally, blockchain experts from both the government and private sector will deliver their concluding thoughts. The session will offer participants the chance to address any questions they may have about the course.
