UNCTAD, with support from the UN regional commissions for Africa (ECA), Europe (ECE), Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) and Western Asia (ESCWA), will host online the opening ceremony of the course "The Use of Blockchain for Trade Facilitation” on 26 November 2024, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. (CET).
This course explores the concept of blockchain and raises awareness on the possibilities and obstacles associated with using such technology in trade facilitation. Additionally, it provides a practical understanding for decision-makers and practitioners about the advantages, conditions and adequate environment needed to ensure the successful implementation of blockchain technology.
The event is open to all stakeholders who have previously registered for the course. Registrations can be done via the landing page of the Course on the use of blockchain.
During the event, there will be an introduction to the course methodology, followed by the release and presentation of the first module, "Understanding the potential use of blockchain for trade facilitation", delivered by experts in blockchain. The session will provide participants with an opportunity to answer potential questions regarding the course.
