Protecting consumers, fostering competition: perspectives and strategies  for inclusive digital markets

The intersection of competition and consumer protection policies lies at the heart of ensuring fair, inclusive, and dynamic markets that serve the interests of consumers and businesses alike.

While competition policies foster economic efficiency by preventing anti-competitive practices and promoting innovation, consumer protection policies focus on safeguarding consumer rights, ensuring information, and addressing unfair or abusive business practices.

Together, these policies create a complementary framework that not only enhances consumer welfare by expanding choice, reducing prices and improving quality, but also empowers consumers to stand up for their rights and report harmful market behavior.

In today’s digital economy, where new challenges emerge from dominant platforms, data-driven markets, and evolving technologies, a coordinated approach to competition and consumer protection enforcement is essential to building trust, promoting accountability, and ensuring inclusive economic growth.

This international forum brings together leading experts and stakeholders to discuss the intersection of competition and consumer protection policies, particularly in the evolving digital economy.

The event is organized in partnership with the Albanian Competition Authority (CAA) and Consumer Protection Commission (CPC), aiming to highlight the importance of integrated approaches to empower consumers and ensure fair competition.

The forum will be conducted in both English and Albanian.
