The E-Commerce and Digital Economy Branch of UNCTAD, in cooperation with the Ministry of Trade and Industry in Côte d'Ivoire, is organising a validation workshop for the implementation plan and the governance and institutional framework of the National E-commerce Strategy 2024-2027, in Abidjan on 24 June 2024. The objective of this meeting is to present and validate the implementation plan of the E-commerce Strategy for Côte d’Ivoire to main stakeholders and to present the decree on the creation of a National E-commerce Committee.  This workshop follows national consultations in Abidjan in February 2024, during which the draft e-commerce strategy was presented and validated. The event will gather senior officials from key ministries and agencies, as well as representatives of the private sector, civil society and academia.

The Côte d'Ivoire E-commerce Strategy Development Project expands UNCTAD’s earlier support to Côte d‘Ivoire for an eTrade Readiness Assessment (2021) as well as ongoing technical assistance on e-commerce to the ECOWAS  region. Funding is provided by the E-commerce and Digital Economy Programme Core Donors (Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, and the Netherlands).
