The 15th session of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD15), will take place online from 3 to 7 October 2021, hosted by the Government of Barbados, under the theme “From inequality and vulnerability to prosperity for all“.
Accreditation to the conference is now open to the media. Journalists wishing to be accredited to the conference first need to create a profile on Indico, and then apply for their accreditation. All accreditation requirements are provided in a note to correspondents available in the virtual UNCTAD15 media centre. Double accreditation (e.g., both as a journalist and as a delegate) is not allowed.
The UNCTAD15 opening ceremony will take place on 3 October at 4 p.m. Geneva time (CEST). Several sessions on trade, investment, finance, technology, environment and other development-related topics will be held during the conference.
A separate online registration is required for each of the pre-events, other side events, and the Global Commodities, Youth, Civil Society, Gender and Creative Industries forums that will take place in September ahead of the conference.
The ministerial conference, a quadrennial UN event, is the highest decision-making body of UNCTAD. The conference sets the organization’s work priorities for the next four years and formulates global policy recommendations.
