From short-term disruptions to longer-term resilience

UNCTAD trade policy dialogues seek to reinforce engagement with member States by providing a forum for candid and focused discussion among trade negotiators on topical issues in international trade policy from a development perspective.

This session, organized in partnership with United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UNDESA) and United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE), invites member States to consider major findings of this year’s United Nations flagship report – World Economic Situation and Prospects (WESP) – assessing key trends in international trade.

The session will address the roles of global value chains and of services linkages to economy and trade in dynamically redefining comparative advantages to create resilience, and possible contributions of the multilateral trading system in this regard.
